Ranking The Top 5 Worst Performing Goalkeepers In The EPL This Weekend


The English Premier League is back, goals, banters and several beautiful moments are back also. This past weekend was packed with a lot of actions, coming from the best league in the world.Over 25 goals were scored in match week 1, and more are yet to come.

While some goalkeepers performed impressively during the weekend, others performed poorly. In this article, we're going to see the top five worst performing goalkeepers in the EPL based on on their weekend display.

1. Gavin Bazunu (Southampton)

The 20-year old Irish goalkeeper made his debut in the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon. He conceded four goals from Sessegnon, Eric Dier, Kilusevski and Salisu, as his side bowed to a 4-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

2. David De Gea (Manchester United)

The 31-year old Spanish International produced an awful performance against Brighton on Sunday at Old Trafford. He conceded two goals from Pascal Grob in the 30th and 39th minutes of the game, as his side lost 2-1 in the opening fixture.

3. Vicente Guaita (Crystal Palace)

The 35-year old was in goal for Crystal Palace in their match against Arsenal, the first game of 2022/23 season. He conceded two goals in the 20th and 85th minutes, as his side lost 2-0 at the Selhurst Park Stadium.

4. Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)

The Argentine was very far from his best in Villa's match against newly promoted AFC Bournemouth side. He conceded in the 2nd and 80th minutes of the game, with his side bowing down to a 2-0 defeat.

5. Dean Henderson (Nottingham Forest)

The 25-year old former Manchester United goalkeeper was not impressive last weekend. He made his debut for the newly promoted Forest, conceding two goals in the 58th and 78th minutes of the second half, as they lost 2-0 to Newcastle United.
