The 2022/23 English Premier League season kicked off on a very high note this weekend, after a long time of anticipation. Newly promoted side, AFC Bournemouth secured a vital victory over Aston Villa, while their counterparts, Fulham and Nottingham Forest registered a draw and loss against Liverpool and Newcastle United respectively.
Some goalkeepers were very outstanding for their clubs, and they deserve some recognition. In this article, we're going to be ranking the top five (5) best goalkeepers in the EPL based on their performance in match week 1.
1. Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)

The 28-year old goalkeeper was solid in between the bars against West Ham United on Sunday evening. Manchester City eventually secured a 2-0 victory over their opponents, and the Brazilian goalie also bagged his first clean sheet this season.
3. Mark Travers (AFC Bournemouth)
The 23-year old Ireland star was exceptional in the club's return to the Premier League. His fine display helped his side to register a 2-0 win over Steven Gérard's Aston Villa. A clean sheet for him in this match was a kind of special achievement. Thanks to his defence.

The 22-year French young star produced a very impressive display against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. He made three important saves to help Leeds United to register a 2-1 win over their opponents.
