3 Chelsea Stars Who Will Be Angry If Raheem Sterling Joins Chelsea

Raheem Sterling's move to Chelsea is now much closer than ever, that is according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. Sterling have been Chelsea's main attacking target this summer and now, the Blues are set to get their man. New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is willing to invest heavily in the Chelsea squad this summer and Raheem Sterling could be the first of many big signings through the door this summer at Stamford Bridge.

But while Raheem Sterling's potential move to Chelsea is a moment of excitement for Chelsea fans, it could be a moment of great consideration for some Chelsea players. Sterling coming in would mean competition for some of the top players in the Chelsea team as everyone know, Chelsea must sell a player to accommodate the Englishman. So here is a quick run down of the players who might not be overly excited about Chelsea's imminent move to Stamford Bridge.

1. Christian Pulisic.

The American international was once touted to be Eden Hazard's replacement at Stamford bridge. He 'completed a move from Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 and moved to the club the following summer. In his 3 year stay at the club, Christian Pulisic has not lived up to the hype. He's had some really good moments for Chelsea, good performances on the pitch but it's not being consistent much to the dismay of the Chelsea supporters. With Raheem Sterling coming in, Christian Pulisic will be one of the Chelsea stars who will be wondering what the future holds for them.

Christian Pulisic plays predominantly as a left winger (though Tuchel occasionally used him as a right wing back last season). Raheem Sterling also favours that left wing position so it will be interesting to see if Chelsea will offload Pulisic or keep him as back up to Sterling.

2. Hakim Ziyech.

You all must've heard of Hakim Ziyech's rumoured move to AC Milan but the truth is that until he puts pen to paper at the Italian club, he's still a Chelsea player. He might be close to a move but as things stand, Chelsea and AC Milan as still worlds apart in terms of valuation. Ziyech hasn't had the best of times at the Bridge. Once a wizard for Ajax in the Eredivisie, Hakim Ziyech has only shown flashes of his brilliance in the Chelsea colours. Maybe it's down to the style of play at Chelsea, maybe. With Raheem Sterling coming in, it's a moment of truth for Ziyech. In his best interest, he would hope that his move to AC Milan materialises early but if it doesn't, he will face a competition for places with Raheem Sterling. Sterling is comfortable playing on both wings, right and left. Ziyech is a right winger so this could be battle to keep an eye on if Ziyech remains at Chelsea.

3. Callum Hudson Odoi.

Once the starboy at Stamford Bridge, Hudson Odoi's career have turned out worse than we all expected at his early stages at Chelsea. Still only 21, Hudson Odoi can still set the stage alight on his day, just that his day comes every 5 months. With Sterling about to be breathing down his neck, Hudson Odoi would have to be at his very best this season to nail down a starting spot at Chelsea. Luckily for Hudson Odoi, this pre season might give him a headstart over his fellow Englishman Sterling as he's already been training for the better part of 1 month. He's trying to overcome the injury crisis that plagued him in the second half of last season.
