Brazilian attacker Raphinha is edging closer to a big money move to Chelsea following latest reports. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Leeds United have reached a full agreement over the signing of Raphinha.
Arsenal and Barcelona were the two clubs leading in the race to sign Raphinha but an mega and tempting offer from Chelsea saw Chelsea hijacked the deal. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea made the highest offer (£60/65m) for Raphinha which was way above Arsenal and Barcelona.
Leeds United have accepted Chelsea bid and noth teams have reached full agreement and only thing left is for Chelsea to agreed a deal with the player.
Is not yet a done deal for Chelsea as they need to reach an agreement with Raphinha on personal terms but journalist David Ornstein believes that won't be a problem for Chelsea.
Raphinha will be joining Thomas Tuchel's side if they deal pull through and he will be playing with unfamiliar faces. Although Raphinha and Thiago Silva has played together in the Brazil national team but the winger is yet to play with any other current Chelsea player except Edouard Mendy.
Edouard Mendy and Raphinha were teammates during their time at Stadia Rennes.
Raphinha played for Rennes for only one season where he played alongside Edouard Mendy. He played for Rennes in 2019/20 season after joining from Sporting CP the previous season.
He spent only one season at Rennes scoring 6 league goals in 28 appearances before leaving to join Leeds United.
